Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Combustors & Structures Lab Operations Lead to monitor and improve shop operations, manage external vendor flow, and lead LEAN implementation in a low volume, high mix environment. The role requires collaboration with engineering, quality, inspection, engine programs, customers and vendors to ensure hardware status and needs are communicated clearly.

Ideal candidates will have LEAN/Six Sigma experience, CAM/CAD (Unigraphics NX), and a bachelor's degree (or equivalent)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college; or high school diploma with 4+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 3 additional years of manufacturing experience, ideally with machining, assembly, machine repair or inspection.
  • Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma and 5S principles.
  • Experience with shop operations, hardware management, scheduling, quoting and finance.
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixturing and process engineering.
  • Experience with CAM/CAD, particularly Unigraphics NX.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve operations monitoring to status WIP hardware and manage shop schedule.
  • Support hardware by managing flow through external vendor operations and acting as main vendor POC.
  • Lead LEAN implementation in a high-mix, low-volume environment with standard work and 5S.
  • Interface with management, engineering, quality, inspection, engine programs, customers and vendors to communicate status.
  • Create process documentation and operating instructions.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolve manufacturing process issues.
