Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Lean/Last Planner Specialist to support adoption of Lean practices on Toledo-area projects. The role collaborates with the Regional Lean Manager and project teams to implement Lean Roadmap, visual management, and 5S on site.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree with at least two years of related experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to read contract docs, drawings, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus two years’ related experience in construction or Lean programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.

Responsibilities

• Supports project teams in using Lean Roadmap as a learning resource by developing and following a plan to achieve project goals.
• Works daily with the teams in the utilization of the mechanics of the Last Planner® System (LPS).
• Supports development and implementation of assigned project improvements and innovation through workshops and coaching; collaborates with Regional Lean Manager/Lean Manager to share and learn from improvements.
• Provides a consistent presence on assigned projects, setting up Visual Management, 5S, etc.
• Develops project-specific implementation strategies for lean and the LPS with the Regional Lean Manager.
• Conducts regular project reviews with project team, Operations Manager and Regional Lean Manager to review status, challenges and opportunities and to establish measurable goals.
• May perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
