Job summary

Designs for Health is seeking a Manager of Engineering & Continuous Improvement for its Arlee, Montana facility. The role leads site engineering, the capital-project portfolio, automation, continuous improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives, reporting to the Plant Director and developing engineering talent.

The position is on-site in Arlee with periodic travel to Nevada sites, driving standardization of project-management across three plants, and delivering cost-optimization,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related technical field.
• Progressive experience in manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, capital projects, automation, or plant operations.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience applying Lean methods, value-stream mapping, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving tools; training or coaching experience preferred.
• Experience managing capital-project portfolios, including prioritization, business cases, resource coordination, vendor and contractor management, budgets, and schedules.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing automation, equipment integration, process controls, and performance measurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead site-level engineering and continuous improvement priorities aligned with Plant Director and Operations objectives.
• Manage the site's capital-project portfolio, including prioritization, budget, and schedule management.
• Standardize project-management processes, tools, and performance measures across DFH's sites.
• Apply Lean, value-stream mapping, and root-cause analysis to identify constraints and drive improvements.
• Develop and deliver Lean training for supervisors and managers.
• Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Technical Services.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve process control, reliability, and throughput.
• Ensure changes are safe, documented, and compliant with requirements.
• Coach and develop direct reports to build Lean thinking and accountability.
• Collaborate with Operations and Finance to validate benefits and outcomes.
