Job summary

BLUvera, Mortenson’s manufacturing arm, seeks a Lean Engineer I or II to drive continuous improvement across a growing operation. The role partners with project leadership and frontline teams to cut waste, improve safety, and streamline workflow. Travel to various project sites is required, with rotations and multi‑week stays.

The candidate will facilitate Kaizen events, implement 5S and standardized work, and help build efficient, repeatable processes as the business scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and field experience.
• Internship experience in construction or manufacturing.
• Prior construction site experience preferred.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project leadership and craft workforce to establish trust and gain buy‑in for lean approaches.
• Provide regular feedback to project leadership on lean methods and cross‑project sharing.
• Facilitate improvement events with project team and experts.
• Reinforce continuous improvement principles and ensure ongoing application of tools.
• Support forepersons in observing work and adherence to standardized work.
