Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a First Shift team leader who will guide a manufacturing team to meet metrics and satisfy customers. The role requires process-oriented leadership, safety focus, and a commitment to developing team members.

You will oversee production, scheduling, costs, and quality while driving lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve performance. Occasional travel is expected; bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Lead all activities of the assigned team including safety, quality, fulfillment, cost and inventory.
• Drive lean principles and continuous improvement projects to improve cost, quality and safety.
• Manage projects, production, costs, scheduling, shipping, receiving and quality.
• Ensure on-time product delivery within budget and meeting customer expectations.
• Bachelor’s degree with manufacturing experience or 5+ years in manufacturing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, organize, mentor and coach team members to align with company strategies.
• Monitor goals to drive key business results and customer satisfaction.
• Address vendor, supplier and customer issues to improve quality and delivery.
• Lead development and implementation of lean and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure safety and EHS compliance and maintain required documentation.
• Encourage team development and engagement; foster growth.
