Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is seeking a process-oriented leader to supervise and develop a manufacturing team on first shift. You will oversee safety, quality, fulfillment, cost and inventory, driving improvements and aligning team goals with Vermeer strategies.

Strong communication and leadership are essential. The role emphasizes lean principles, workforce planning, and meeting customer demand through effective scheduling and cross-training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum one year manufacturing experience or minimum five years’ experience in manufacturing.
• Continuous improvement experience preferred. Understanding of lean principles.
• Ability to own workforce planning including staffing levels, cross-training strategy, and schedule optimization to meet customer demand.
• Demonstrated understanding of performance metrics including safety, quality, fulfillment, cost and inventory.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, organize, mentor and coach team members to align with company goals.
• Manage projects, production, costs, scheduling, shipping, receiving and quality to ensure on-time delivery.
• Drive root cause problem solving for vendor, supplier and customer issues.
• Lead lean and continuous improvement initiatives to improve cost, quality and safety.
• Ensure safety and accountability; meet EHS Scorecard requirements.
• Maintain documentation to comply with internal and external regulations.
• Encourage development and engagement; create growth opportunities for team.
