Job summary

Alstom is offering a 4-month Continuous Improvement Internship at our Plattsburgh, NY site. You will support site leadership and cross-functional teams in Lean initiatives, helping deploy the APSYS program and drive operational excellence.

The role provides hands-on experience in process mapping, data analysis, and improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery. Strong Excel and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Interest in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Operational Excellence.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support site leadership and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with Lean practices and APSYS deployment across the site.
• Participate in process mapping, data collection, and performance analysis.
• Help identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people.
• Monitor KPIs and support reporting activities.
• Collaborate with operations, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams; participate in Kaizen events.
