Opportunity Overview
We are currently searching for a Lean Coach to work remotely from our Cranberry Township, PA office. This position is remote, though occasional travel to our site may be required. The Lean Coach will be responsible for facilitating improvement projects using established process improvement methodologies such as problem solving, Kaizen, and tools including Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Pull, TPM, SMED, and 5S.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a Lean Transformation & Implementation roadmap for the business segment.
- Coach lean processes and behaviors, developing a highly effective Daily Management process focused on tools such as one-piece flow, on-demand, zero defects, and standardized work. Deploy techniques such as basic problem solving, Kaizen, and A3 thinking, and tools including Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Pull, TPM, SMED, and 5S.
- Mentor Westinghouse Leaders and change agents to grow their Lean knowledge and foster a lean mindset, including expertise in Kaizen and value stream thinking.
- Support and develop value stream teams to follow their standard work, cultivating a culture of discipline to achieve results using lean principles.
- Collaborate with sponsors and business owners to define projects, objectives, schedules, customer expectations, scope, and ROI/cost avoidance targets.
- Lead system-wide initiatives ensuring quality and effectiveness.
- Implement process improvement projects utilizing Lean methodologies to achieve sustainable results.
- Develop project plans and lead organizations through the improvement process, adhering to schedules and milestones.
- Promote awareness and socialization of Process Improvement methodologies across the enterprise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Process Improvement.
- Lean Certification.
- Project Management and Change Management certifications preferred.
- Experience in Lean transformation, culture change, and proven results.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with all levels of management and staff.
- Leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, and influence.
- Knowledge of the Shingo model and Gemba-based tools is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years leading process improvement initiatives with demonstrated results.
- Strong project management skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
