Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated, and will communicate standards of excellence in daily work assignments to meet safe production as outlined by management.

This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations and includes working hours Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, with overtime and weekend work as necessary.

Qualifications

• Willingness to operate equipment such as skid steer, backhoe, pavers, rollers.
• Communicate standards of excellence in daily work assignments as directed by supervision.
• Willingness to travel from the quarry to other locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard plant and equipment duties and operate mobile equipment.
• Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of operation.
• Conduct regular safety and housekeeping inspections.
• Assist in developing mining plans, maintenance schedules, and production forecasts.
• Assist with training of co-workers and participate in safety committees.

This position involves various manual tasks including, but not limited to, the following: shoveling; sweeping; lifting, pushing and pulling various objects and raking. Willingness to learn to operate various equipment, such as a skid steer, backhoe, pavers, rollers, etc.
What To Expect
Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for communicating standards of excellence in the daily work assignments of assigned team in order to meet safe production as outlined by Management. The Lead person will communicate standards through stated goals, daily interactions, team meetings, providing input on employee performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations. Hours are Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 5:30 pm including weekends and overtime as necessary.
A Typical Day For A(n) Lead Person May Include

• Performing standard office duties, plant duties, equipment repairs and operates mobile equipment
• Establishing and maintains effective communications within all areas of operation
• Performing regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation
• Implementing and applying all safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
• Working closely with the Sr. Team Coordinator and Production Supervisor to insure implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment
• Completing annual performance evaluations on team members
• Participating on plant safety committee
• Working with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Sr. Team Coordinator in developing mining plans, profit plans, AFE'S, and monthly forecast
• Completing daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately
• Maintaining plant housekeeping and appearance standards and product quality as established by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You May Be a Good Fit If You

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Have three (3) years of experience in in the building materials, mining or aggregates industry
