Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person to join our team. The ideal candidate is safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This role involves communicating standards of excellence in daily tasks across the crew to meet safe production goals outlined by Management.

This position requires travel between quarry locations and hours typically run Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, with weekends and overtime as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years’ experience in building materials, mining, or aggregates.

Responsibilities

• Perform office and plant duties, and operate mobile equipment.
• Establish and maintain effective communications within all areas of operation.
• Perform regular safety, housekeeping and mechanical inspections.
• Enforce safety rules and company policies per regulations.
• Coordinate with supervision to ensure scheduled equipment maintenance.
• Complete annual performance evaluations for team members.
• Participate in plant safety committee activities.
• Assist in training co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What to expect:

Martin Marietta is seeking a Lead Person to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for communicating standards of excellence in the daily work assignments of assigned team in order to meet safe production as outlined by Management. The Lead person will communicate standards through stated goals, daily interactions, team meetings, providing input on employee performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions. This position requires travel from the quarry to other locations. Hours are Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 5:30 pm including weekends and overtime as necessary.

A typical day for a(n) Lead Person may include:

• Performing standard office duties, plant duties, equipment repairs and operates mobile equipment
• Establishing and maintains effective communications within all areas of operation
• Performing regular inspections for safety, housekeeping and mechanical issues in all areas of the operation
• Implementing and applying all safety rules, regulations and procedures of mine and property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
• Working closely with the Sr. Team Coordinator and Production Supervisor to insure implementation of scheduled maintenance on all equipment
• Completing annual performance evaluations on team members
• Participating on plant safety committee
• Working with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Sr. Team Coordinator in developing mining plans, profit plans, AFE'S, and monthly forecast
• Completing daily production, safety and maintenance reports accurately
• Maintaining plant housekeeping and appearance standards and product quality as established by federal, state, and local agencies and policies, as well as company guidelines and safety standards
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
