PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Leadership Management Trainee Engineering (LMT-E) program ensures that new trainees develop the leadership, industry knowledge, and technical skills necessary to succeed as production supervisors. This program provides a solid foundation in railroading, a strong support network, and the skills needed to ensure the reliability of our rail infrastructure.
This intensive seven-month training includes classroom instruction, online training, workshops, projects, and on-the-job training. Trainees will complete an 11-week manager conductor training course and 15 weeks of learning competencies required to oversee safe operations and supervise capital work projects, track renewal programs, and infrastructure improvements.
The program covers leadership, safety, railway capital work project management, CPKC’s operating model, computer systems training, and exposure to key departments. Upon completion, trainees will be placed within CPKC’s network as production supervisors.

Training Location: Mostly in St. Paul, MN, with travel to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and various locations across CPKC’s network.
Relocation: Position location may change based on organizational needs; willingness to relocate preferred.
Medical Requirements: Pre-employment medical including physical, vision, hearing, alcohol, and drug assessments; drug testing required.
Clearances: Criminal history, reference, driving history, employment history, and social security verification.
Management Conductor Program: Certification or maintenance of conductor/engineer certification required; a key pathway to learn the business.
