Job summary

Austin Regional Clinic is seeking a Learning & Development professional to coordinate learning logistics, manage learner communications, and support the Leadership & Professional Development Manager with session preparation.

You will apply adult learning principles, update content, and lead activities for new leaders, while ensuring compliance and confidentiality and promoting ARC's mission.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree with 2+ years leadership and 3+ years in learning and development.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred; experience hosting virtually and creating video content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex concepts into clear content.

PURPOSE

Responsible for coordinating learning logistics, managing learner communication, and supporting the Leadership & Professional Development Manager with session preparation based on assigned audiences. Applies adult learning principles to assist with updating learning content, while supporting the Leadership & Professional Development Manager by leading activities and facilitating sessions, as assigned. Actively connects with others through empathetic communication, delivering compassionate service through solution-focused thinking, and partnering for growth. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrates a foundational understanding of adult learning and instructional design principles by assisting in the execution and maintenance of development solutions.
  • Creates, updates, and formats learning content for assigned learner groups, including professional and leadership development courses.
  • Serves as a point of contact for new leaders, whether promoted or hired externally, welcoming them to the team and guiding them through the logistical steps of the leadership development pathway and coaching journeys.
  • Leads in-person and/or virtual activities for new leaders.
  • Assists and supports with logistical items, including scheduling, updating content, preparing materials, and sending post-session support assignments or resources.
  • Coordinates learning initiatives setup and distribution using internal and external platforms, assisting with the administration of learning campaigns aimed at building internal capabilities.
  • Partners with the Leadership & Professional Development Manager and other team members to coordinate new initiatives, pathways, campaigns, etc., supporting team member and leader development.
  • Reviews and cross-references learning content to ensure alignment with the three (3) pillars of Professional and Leadership Development.
  • Collects and organizes feedback, data, and learning observations to identify development needs, communicating trends to the manager to support continuous elevation of learning portfolio.
  • Organizes and balances daily responsibilities alongside tasks related to multiple initiatives, pathways, campaigns, etc., while tracking project milestones to help ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Maintains tracking systems and dashboards to monitor learning metrics, participation rates, and other key performance indicators, as identified.
  • Identify opportunities and recommends updates/changes to improve protocols, processes, tracking systems, etc.
  • Actively pursues self-development and professional growth, utilizing manager guidance and participating in the internal facilitator certification process to prepare for independent session facilitation.
  • Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
  • Regular and dependable attendance.
  • Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on ARC SharePoint.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates scheduling and logistics for identified internal and external learning resources as needed.
  • Coordinates newly promoted or externally hired leader follow-ups, gathering early feedback and tracking onboarding milestone completions.
  • Actively participates in team meetings, workgroups, or committees as requested to represent the team and support ongoing initiatives.
  • Contributes to team success by performing other supportive duties as requested or assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Required: High school diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in a related field with two (2) or more years of experience in a leadership role and three (3) years of experience in learning and development, enablement specialist, classroom education or training, or in-person facilitator-led learning.

Preferred: Experience in the health care industry. Experience hosting virtually-led learning sessions and creating/editing video content

  • Understands adult learning and instructional principles, recognizing their uses within existing content and integrating them into revisions and new content. to translate complex concepts into simple, everyday language.
  • Ability to partner effectively with leaders and HR to design and deliver learning and development solutions.
  • Skill in utilizing instructional design tools (e.g., Articulate 360).
  • Strong computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to learn new applications and/or functionality and create learning documentation to support the application.
