Job description

Buckingham Search is partnering with a highly regarded global organization to hire a Leadership & Professional Development Coordinator.

This role sits at the center of the company’s employee learning efforts, helping transform development ideas into polished, well-executed experiences. You will keep programs moving, connect the right people, anticipate what could fall through the cracks, and improve the systems behind the work.

It is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being the person who makes everything come together - especially in a fast-moving, detail-oriented environment.

This role is in office 5 days a week - downtown Chicago.

The Opportunity

You will support a broad portfolio of employee development initiatives, including leadership programs, professional skills training, onboarding, technical learning, and companywide events.

Your work may include:

  • Building program timelines and coordinating each step from initial planning through completion
  • Organizing calendars, communications, materials, facilitators, virtual sessions, and in-person logistics
  • Keeping participants informed and ensuring they have a seamless experience
  • Working with leaders, HR partners, coaches, speakers, and outside learning providers
  • Coordinating programs that involve employees and stakeholders in multiple countries and time zones
  • Maintaining accurate learning records and producing participation and completion reports
  • Supporting contracts, invoices, budgets, and relationships with external partners
  • Monitoring feedback and using the findings to strengthen future programming
  • Creating resources, templates, and operating guides that make programs easier to deliver consistently
  • Finding practical ways to automate repetitive work and improve existing processes
  • Using AI tools to assist with communication, content organization, reporting, research, and administrative workflows
  • Providing real-time support during virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning experiences
Who Will Thrive Here

The strongest candidate will be highly organized without losing sight of the employee experience. You should be comfortable managing many moving pieces, shifting between priorities, and taking ownership without needing every step mapped out for you.

We are looking for someone who brings:
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in learning operations, employee development, HR, project coordination, program management, or a comparable environment
  • A strong track record of keeping complex projects organized and on schedule
  • Excellent judgment, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • The ability to communicate clearly with employees, senior leaders, internal partners, and vendors
  • Confidence coordinating work across teams, regions, and time zones
  • A process-improvement mindset and an interest in finding more efficient ways to work
  • Comfort reviewing information, recognizing trends, and turning data or feedback into useful next steps
  • The ability to stay calm and solution-oriented when plans change
  • Experience with a Learning Management System or similar platform is preferred
  • Exposure to AI-enabled productivity tools is helpful
  • A bachelor’s degree or comparable practical experience
Why Consider This Role?

This is more than a scheduling or administrative position. You will have visibility across the organization and the opportunity to influence how employees experience learning and development.

As the function grows, the role may also expand into areas such as learning technology ownership, onboarding, program creation, and broader development strategy.

If you enjoy building structure, delivering thoughtful employee experiences, and making good programs run even better, we would love to connect.
