POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise shift operations and productivity.
• Ensure appropriate staffing needs are met daily.
• Promote a team environment.
• Oversee daily functions of Admissions and Registration, Financial Counseling, and Bed Control.
• Ensure accurate and timely admissions and discharges.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records.
• Provide excellent customer service and adhere to the standards and behaviors of University Health.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• One year of college study or completion of a recognized clerical vocational training program with medical terminology preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in a hospital admitting or business office required.
• Billing knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of contract benefits and negotiation of out-of-network benefits required.
• Pre-certification experience required.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
