Crossroads YMCA in Gary, IN is seeking a part‑time Leader on Duty to supervise the branch, manage safety, and guide staff and members. The role emphasizes strong interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflicts while promoting a welcoming, fun culture.
Under the Designated Director, you will respond to emergencies, assist with member services, and ensure daily operations run smoothly, including basic maintenance and adherence to YMCA policies.
Job Details: Location: Gary YMCA - Gary, IN 46404. Position Type: Part Time. Pay starting at $15.00 per hour based on experience.
This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Designated Director, the Leader on Duty will be responsible for supervising, monitoring, and providing direction, especially in emergency and conflict situations, for the entire branch and grounds, including parking lots. This person will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate to all age groups to prevent, minimize, and resolve issues as well as promote a safe, friendly, and fun culture within the organization.
