Job summary

Tract Capital Management, LP seeks a Manager, Inside Plant Engineering to lead the pre‑construction design and construction phases of in‑building infrastructure across data center campuses. You will manage structured cabling, MDF/IDF, racks, pathways, and life‑safety systems, driving QA/QC and ensuring code compliance.

You will lead a small team, coordinate with cross‑functional groups, and oversee handover to operations while maintaining safety and quality standards for multi‑campus deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years in inside‑plant / structured‑cabling engineering, data center physical‑layer infrastructure, or related delivery.
• 3+ years directly managing a small technical team and leading contractors.
• Experience coordinating multiple sub‑specialties and setting acceptance criteria.
• Proficiency with design and documentation tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Visio) and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Directly lead and develop a small team of three specialists (cabling, signal systems, safety).
• Allocate work, balance schedules, and act as technical escalation point across sub‑specialties.
• Coach team members and build bench strength for multi‑campus support.
• Own end‑to‑end inside plant engineering from pre‑construction through turnover.
• Define design standards and QA/QC criteria for repeatable campus builds.
• Oversee life‑safety and signal systems deliverables and ensure compliance and handover.
