Job summary

RH is seeking a Leader of Architecture & Design to steer next-generation Design Galleries from concept to opening across Development, Design, Construction and internal partners. You will guide consultants and architects, develop design standards, and ensure quality, precision and operational excellence.

You will travel ~30% to sites, review submittals and FF&E, and collaborate with merchandising and operations to integrate requirements into project plans.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in large-scale, high-end retail or hospitality design.
• Experience managing concurrent projects through all design phases and gallery openings.
• College degree in architecture preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

RH is seeking a Leader of Architecture & Design to bring our vision for next-generation Design Galleries to life. Working across Development, Design, Construction and internal business teams, this leader will guide new ground-up galleries from concept through opening, ensuring the design vision is executed with quality, precision and operational excellence.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead ground-up Next-Generation Design Gallery projects through all phases of development, from concept design and construction through gallery opening
• Direct the onboarding and work of consultants and architects of record through planning, entitlement, permitting and construction administration
• Develop design standards and architectural details for new Design Galleries
• Own open design items and priorities, collaborating with internal partners to integrate merchandising and operational requirements into project plans
• Partner with the Construction team to resolve on-site design challenges with clarity and urgency
• Drive hospitality and retail fixture design, development and sourcing, including the review of submittals, shop drawings and FF&E procurement for key design elements
• Conduct site visits, requiring approximately 30% travel, and collaborate with the Gallery Preservation team to incorporate operational feedback into future designs and special projects

OUR REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in large-scale, high-end retail or hospitality design, including the development of floor plans, programming, elevations and details
• College degree in architecture preferred
• Experience managing concurrent projects through all phases of design development and gallery opening
• High proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Google Workspace and Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to translate concept sketches into formal schematic design packages
• Experience participating in executive-level project reviews, interpreting design direction and translating that direction into successful execution
• Strong written and verbal communication, meeting leadership and time-management skills, with the ability to direct consultants and clearly communicate project status and priorities to senior leaders
