Job summary

RH is seeking a Director, Architecture & Design to lead the North American expansion of our Next Generation Design Galleries. This leader will translate the RH design vision into exceptional spaces from site identification through Gallery opening.

The role requires a proven leader of large design teams, strong project management, and extensive experience with high-end retail or hospitality environments. Travel ~25% and collaboration with internal and external partners are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in large-scale, high-end retail or hospitality design
• Degree in architecture preferred
• Proven leader of teams of architects and designers
• Experience participating in executive-level project reviews
• Superior time-management skills and a self-directed mindset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time

Responsibilities

• Drive rollout of Next Generation Design Galleries from site identification to opening
• Lead consultant onboarding, planning and entitlement processes with architects
• Develop design standards and architectural details for all Galleries
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align plans with merchandising and operations
• Review submittals and shop drawings for design intent alignment
• Support design, development, and sourcing of hospitality and retail fixtures
• Incorporate operational feedback into future designs and execute special projects

RH is seeking a Director, Architecture & Design to lead the North American expansion of our Next Generation Design Galleries. Working across the Development & Design team and with key internal and external partners, this leader will translate the RH design vision into exceptional spaces from site identification through Gallery opening.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive the rollout of Next Generation Design Galleries, guiding projects from site identification and concept design through construction and opening
• Lead consultant onboarding, planning and entitlement processes, and external architects of record in the development of permit sets and construction administration
• Develop design standards and architectural details for all Galleries
• Collaborate with Development & Design partners and cross-functional teams to align plans with merchandising and operational requirements
• Partner with the Construction team to resolve on-site design challenges and review submittals and shop drawings for alignment with design intent
• Support the design, development, and sourcing of hospitality and retail fixtures
• Partner with the Gallery Preservation team to incorporate operational feedback into future designs and execute special projects

OUR REQUIREMENTS

• 10+ years of experience in large-scale, high-end retail or hospitality design, including floor plans, programming, elevations, details, and the management of concurrent projects through Gallery opening
• Degree in architecture preferred
• Proven leader of teams of architects and designers, delivering project priorities, and communicating status to senior leadership
• Experience participating in executive-level project reviews, translating design vision and direction into successful execution
• Superior time-management skills and a self-directed mindset suited to a fast-paced, continually evolving environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach grounded in positive intent and focused on what is right
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Google Workspace, and Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to advance design studies from concept sketches to schematic design packages
• Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
