Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte is seeking a Senior Payroll Systems Analyst to own the Workday payroll configuration and delivery. The role involves managing end-to-end payroll setup, testing, and maintenance in collaboration with HR, Accounting, and other stakeholders.

You will lead automation initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive governance around payroll processes. Hybrid work model with offices in Chicago, New York, and DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, HR, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of payroll systems experience with Workday.
• Law firm experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of payroll calculation logic, tax setup, and Workday configuration.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end configuration, maintenance, and improvement of the Workday Payroll module.
• Document payroll system configuration, business rules, and change-control procedures.
• Lead end-to-end testing and validation of payroll system changes and Workday releases.
• Resolve payroll processing errors through root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor data integrity across HR, timekeeping, benefits, and inputs affecting payroll.
• Prepare and deliver payroll reporting and analysis for compliance and business needs.
