Job summary

Apple in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Silicon Validation Engineer to shape the next generation of wireless silicon. You will span pre-silicon validation on emulation and FPGA prototype platforms through post-silicon bring-up, driving collaboration between pre-silicon design and post-silicon validation to ship high-quality products.

You will develop validation plans, run RTL simulations, write tests in Python and C/C++, and debug complex issues across RTL, firmware, and system boundaries.

Qualifications

• BS degree and minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with Cadence Palladium or equivalent emulation platforms.
• Strong debugging skills for system-level and IP-level debugging on emulation platforms.
• Experience with emulation compile flows, including synthesis for emulation, memory compilation, clock modeling, and I/O abstraction.
• Proficiency in Python, Tcl, Perl, or Shell to automate emulation workflows.
• Experience with Wireless SoC applications (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/cellular) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with IC design, FPGA emulation, firmware, and system teams to drive execution from first silicon to mass production.
• Execute the validation plan across pre- and post-silicon phases, covering wireless data paths and power management.
• Run RTL simulations and analyze waveforms to validate and debug behavior.
• Develop and maintain test scripts and bare-metal firmware for emulation platforms.
• Triage failures and drive root-cause analysis across RTL, firmware, and system boundaries.
• Collaborate with Systems team for system-level integration and debug.
