Job summary

RNWBL is seeking a Lead Wind Technician to support Origin Wind Farm operations on the Vestas V100 platform. You will lead daily field activities, troubleshoot turbine faults, and coordinate maintenance while upholding safety and documentation standards.

You will mentor technicians, perform diagnostics, and ensure reliable turbine availability. This hands-on role requires travel for training and occasional on-site support, often with a rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• Three years of wind turbine field service experience including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to diagnose turbine faults and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics and diagrams.
• Ability to lead field crews, organize work, communicate clearly, and mentor technicians.
• Commitment to safe work practices and sound judgment in field operations.
• Proficiency with computers, digital work orders, and maintenance reporting systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements.
• Willingness to rotate on-call and travel for training or support at other sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily crew activities, assign tasks based on technician qualifications, and coordinate work with Plant Manager and contractors.
• Plan and perform preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, inspections, and component replacements.
• Diagnose faults on Vestas V100 turbines using schematics and manuals.
• Prioritize faults and coordinate recovery plans with Plant Manager.
• Provide technical direction and coach technicians in troubleshooting and safety.
• Lead pre-task planning and job safety discussions, enforcing lockout/tagout and fall protection.
• Verify completed work and support safe return to service; document issues and improvements.
• Coordinate tooling, consumables, and spare parts; document usage and inventory accuracy.
• Maintain accurate work orders and maintenance records in CMMS.
• Communicate equipment conditions and safety concerns to site leadership and stakeholders.
• Support site, customer, regulatory, and NERC compliance within responsibilities.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
