Job summary

Stantec is seeking a wetlands ecologist to lead delineations in the Midwest, conduct ecological assessments, and support regulatory compliance for diverse projects. You will work with a collaborative team on wetland delineations, regulatory permitting, and data analysis in a dynamic environment.

The role requires field work, travel up to 75%, strong communication, and experience with Field Maps and Survey123. A BS degree and relevant experience are essential; PWS certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• US Army Corps of Engineers delineation training or equivalent.
• Ability to interface with clients, peers, and management to meet changing needs.
• Ability to manage risks and safety; provide excellent internal/external service.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and handle a heavy, mobile workload.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication about project needs.
• Able to travel regionally with overnight stays; valid driver's license required.
• Experience with field data collection and reporting in wetland projects.

Responsibilities

• Wetland delineation and characterization in the Midwest region.
• Botanical surveys, habitat mapping, endangered species assessments.
• Prepare wetland delineation and technical reports for clients/regulators.
• Support permitting and compliance for federal/state requirements.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments.
• Data management and analysis; attend client/regulatory meetings.
• Potential wildlife surveys and ecological restoration tasks.
