Job summary

Stantec seeks an ecology/wetland scientist to perform wetland delineation, ecological assessments, and regulatory compliance for diverse projects. The role involves field surveys, data collection, and coordination with clients and regulators in the Great Lakes region.

The position requires a BS in environmental science with 3–5 years of relevant experience, wetland identification expertise, and willingness to travel up to 75%. A Professional Wetland Scientist certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Army Corps of Engineers Basic Delineation Training or equivalent.
• Ability to interface effectively with clients, peers and vendors.
• Ability to manage risks and safety to meet shifting needs.
• Ability to work under pressure and balance heavy workloads.
• Collaborative team player with good communication.
• Willingness to travel regionally with overnight stays.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Wetland and water resource delineation and characterization.
• Botanical surveys, habitat mapping, endangered species assessments.
• Prepare wetland delineation and technical reports for clients/regulators.
• Support environmental permitting and compliance for federal/state requirements.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments.
• Data management and analysis.
• Attend client/regulatory meetings and provide input.
• Possible wildlife surveys and ecological restoration tasks.
