Job summary

Mid-State Industrial Maintenance is seeking a QC (CWI or VT II) to ensure the quality and integrity of welded components and assemblies. The role involves inspecting welds, reading drawings, and coordinating with production to address welding-related issues.

This position requires current CWI or VT II certification, knowledge of AWS/ASME/ASTM codes, and the ability to schedule NDT (RT/UT/MT/PT) as needed in a dynamic manufacturing environment at the Van Wert site.

Qualifications

• Must hold current CWI or VT II certification.
• Strong knowledge of welding codes (AWS, ASME, ASTM).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tolerances and specifications.
• Experience with coordinating NDT scheduling and reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of welds to identify defects and non-conformities.
• Schedule third party NDT (RT/UT/MT/PT) as needed.
• Perform dimensional inspections of incoming, in-process, and finished parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, tolerances, and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports and documentation.
• Coordinate with production and quality control teams to address welding-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with welding codes and standards.
• Provide training and guidance to welding personnel.
• Maintain certification as a CWI or VT II.
