The Welding and NDE team, within the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Organization, is accountable for New Technology Development, through planning and preparation activities combining practical welding work with higher-level technical duties including final industrialization on shop plants.

Partner with the best

The Lead Welding Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for engineering associated with the manufacturing process and developing an operational year plan for their own manufacturing activities. This role will suggest improvements in products, processes and procedures.

As a Lead Welding Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and refining welding techniques, procedures, and the application of welding equipment for the fabrication of metals and welding repairs of castings.

  • Conducting investigations to develop and test new welding processes and procedures, improving existing welding equipment and methods, and discovering new patterns of welding phenomena.

  • Establishing and documenting welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel, addressing specification restrictions, material processes, and pre- and post-heating requirements for complex alloys and critical joints.

  • Directing and coordinating technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and industry standards.

  • Providing training and support on proper welding practices and procedures.

  • Monitoring welding operations to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Possess a degree in engineering or relevant technical field

  • Have a minimum of 4 years of direct experience in welding within a quality, engineering, or manufacturing environment.

  • Be CSWIP 3.1 or AWS/CWI certified.

  • Have in-depth knowledge of ASME Sections I, II, III, V, VIII, IX, B31.1, B31.3, AWS, EN, IBR, and API standards.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of materials and metallurgy, particularly in the context of dissimilar metal joining.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with advanced welding technologies and automated welding systems.
