Description

Advanced Process Technologies Inc. (APT) serves the Food & Dairy Industry designing custom equipment from concept to installation. We have the experience, talent, and expertise to help our customers stay ahead of the competition while giving them the support they need to succeed.

The Lead Stainless Steel Welder is responsible for leading a team in Metal Finishing, TIG, and MIG welding processes, ensuring projects are met on schedule for customers.

Basic Job Functions:

  1. Responsible for meeting weekly personal and team production goals to ensure on-time, high quality project completion.
  2. Conduct daily start-up meetings.
  3. Complete paperwork and inspect orders before signing off that work is complete, and standards were met.
  4. Monitor performance of team members and actively assist with training of team members.
  5. Act as first point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
  6. Maintain accurate tool set and work area for team.
  7. Read measurements to weld assemblies together based on drawings using a variety of measuring devices.
  8. Set up and adjust welding equipment to perform high quality welds for the specific application.
  9. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  10. Ensure all safety requirements and company policies are being met in the Shop.

Requirements

Required:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. 5 – 7 years’ experience as a welder.
  3. Ability to perform basic shop math functions.
  4. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  5. Ability to lead a team and work well with others.
  6. Strong mechanical aptitude.
  7. Ability to problem solve and give direction.
  8. Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa, or a visa sponsored by a third-party.

Preferred:

  1. Experience with sanitary equipment fabrication.
  2. One or two year welding diploma from technical college or relevant welding experience.
  3. Knowledge of relative safety standards.

Training:

All welding new hires will participate in APT’s Welding Training Program to gain a thorough understanding of APT’s welding standards and practices. This training will ensure you are fully prepared for success by familiarizing you with APT’s high standards for quality and safety.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range: $33.00 - $40.00 per hour

The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base compensation for this position. At APT, we are committed to offering compensation that is competitive and aligned with market standards, considering factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, and performance. As a result, compensation for the successful candidate(s) may fall anywhere within the stated range.
