Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Weld Tech for a capable team in Kansas City, MO. The role requires MIG, TIG, and stick welding on diverse metals, with the ability to read blueprints and fabricate to precise tolerances.

You will lead and train welders, coordinate workloads with shifts, and uphold safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment. This is a first-shift, opportunity-for-hire position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years welding experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and tolerances.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG, and stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and other materials.
• Experience setting up, operating, and maintaining welding equipment.
• Strong leadership and ability to train and guide others.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate using MIG, TIG, and stick processes on various metals.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols.
• Set up, operate, adjust, and maintain welding equipment and related tools.
• Cut, fit, bend, grind, drill, prepare, and assemble metal components to spec.
• Fabricate parts, modify components, and perform repairs as needed.
• Produce consistent welds meeting specifications and quality standards.
• Provide daily direction and training to welding staff and monitor performance.
