Job summary

The Foth Companies seeks a Lead Marine Structural Engineer to serve as the technical lead and designer on waterfront and coastal projects, supporting planning, engineering, and construction across multiple locations. This role can be located in Green Bay, WI; Milwaukee, WI; Madison, WI; Marion, MA; Newport, RI; Jacksonville, FL; Petaluma, CA or remote for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience in feasibility, design, and/or construction management.
• Experience with developing construction documents including plans and specifications.
• Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical lead and designer on coastal, waterfront, and marine infrastructure projects, supporting planning, engineering, and construction efforts.
• Perform coastal condition calculations and structural analyses to develop and review designs for shoreline protection, stabilization systems, and marine/waterfront structures.
• Lead the development of construction documents, including plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to establish and manage project budgets, schedules, deliverables, and quality standards.
• Identify and implement innovative design and engineering technologies, and improve standard work practices for marine and coastal engineering.
• Contribute to regulatory knowledge and support the firm’s technical library in structural and coastal engineering.
• Support business development by preparing technical approaches and proposals, partnering with Client Team Leaders to build client relationships.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build, lead, and mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and coastal engineering competencies.
