Job summary

Woodard & Curran is seeking a Water/Wastewater Lead Operations & Maintenance Technician to lead a field crew in maintaining water and wastewater infrastructure, including mains, lift stations, and booster stations. You will oversee customer service to residents and businesses and manage timely work orders.

The role requires 5+ years in water and wastewater maintenance, strong system knowledge, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with SCADA, Microsoft Word and Excel, plus maintenance

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and wastewater maintenance and repair
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater systems and components
• Experience leading a team of workers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Proficient with SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel and maintenance management programs
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Water and wastewater certifications for Florida (Class D or Class C) are highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of workers in operations and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure (mains, lift stations, booster stations)
• Oversee customer service to residents and businesses, handling inquiries and complaints
• Schedule and prioritize work orders to ensure timely completion
• Operate and maintain hydrants, valves, pressure tests and related equipment
• Oversee meter reading and installation/replacement of water meters
• Ensure daily site inspections and safety compliance
• Train crew members in maintenance and repair techniques
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules and track compliance
• Coordinate projects with other departments as necessary
• Manage inventory of supplies and equipment for maintenance tasks
• Respond to emergencies and troubleshooting
• Cover for the manager as needed and ensure regulatory compliance
• Perform duties assigned by management
