Job summary

NYC Department of Environmental Protection is hiring five Associate Water Use Inspectors, Level II to oversee borough-wide water use inspection programs and supervise inspectors. You will review permits, dispatch tasks, and enforce DEP rules across multiple units including Technical Services and Meter Test Facility in Queens and Bronx, with a 35-hour work week at various locations.

Requirements include three years of mechanical experience in plumbing or water use inspection, plus supervisory

Qualifications

• Three years of mechanical experience in plumbing or water use inspection, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Direct Borough-wide water use inspection programs by supervising inspectors.
• Review service orders, issue warnings and notices as needed, and manage cases in the information systems.
• Coordinate with the Chief and managers to create and execute service orders.
• Assist with key account inspections and complex metering situations.
• Handle customer disputes and enforce DEP rules and regulations.
