Job summary

The Lead Applications Technologist will solve PFAS mitigation challenges through lab, bench, pilot, and field studies, collaborating with Process Engineering, Commercial, Product Management, and Market Development teams.

The role demands hands-on lab work, process design, and strong analytical, writing, and communication skills to deliver practical, cost-effective treatment solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant education and experience considered.
• Hands-on experience developing treatment processes and designs for water and wastewater.
• Experience operating laboratory, bench-scale, pilot-scale, or demonstration-scale systems.
• Experience with analytical characterization of water and wastewater samples.
• Expertise in physicochemical treatment processes for municipal/industrial water and wastewater.
• Knowledge of thermal treatment, AOP, membrane, or biological treatment; PFAS mitigation is a plus.
• Strong interest or experience in PFAS treatment and mitigation strategies.
• Three+ years supporting industrial/municipal water treatment applications preferred.
• Strong technical writing, data analysis, presentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct treatability and feasibility studies aligned with business goals and customer needs.
• Develop project proposals with technical protocols, scope, budgets, and schedules with cross-functional teams.
• Design, set up, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory, bench‑scale, and pilot‑scale systems.
• Support field studies including sampling and testing program execution.
• Apply engineering, chemistry, biology, statistics, and process modeling to evaluate treatments.
• Contribute ideas to improve existing technologies or develop new concepts.
• Analyze and interpret experimental and process data; ensure data quality and timely delivery.
• Prepare and present technical reports, updates, and presentations for internal/external audiences.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory instrumentation; maintain safety and QA programs.
• Collaborate with commercial, engineering, technical, and market development teams.
