Job summary

Fresenius Kabi USA, LLC seeks a Water Treatment Technician II to serve as Certified Operator of Record for the wastewater plant. You will perform advanced operational and laboratory tasks, lead troubleshooting, and mentor others while ensuring permit compliance and supporting EHS initiatives.

The role requires 3–5 years in wastewater operations, strong regulatory knowledge, and ability to lead continuous improvements. 1st shift is 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with on‑call weekends when needed.

Qualifications

• Operator Certification required.
• High school diploma/GED or higher.
• 3-5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DEC regulations.
• Must be available for call‑in response outside regular hours.
• Knowledge of WWTP laboratory procedures and testing methods.
• Experience leading projects or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Leadership/mentorship/training experience.
• Computer literacy.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Certified Operator of Record for wastewater treatment plants and ensure permit compliance.
• Perform advanced sampling, lab testing, and process adjustments.
• Lead shift as lead operator, troubleshoot issues, escalate when needed.
• Drive continuous improvement to optimize chemical use, energy, and sludge.
• Mentor and train other technicians in sampling, compliance, and operations.
• Review data and documentation for accuracy before submission.
• Maintain state‑mandated logs, reports, and regulatory records.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs for wastewater and fire protection systems.
• Coordinate with off‑site labs and regulatory agencies during inspections.
• Lead investigations of non‑compliance and recommend corrective actions.
• Support broader EHS initiatives including audits and training.
