Job summary

HKA Enterprises is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator I to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of a Water Treatment Plant while ensuring regulatory compliance and safe work practices. A licensed water operator is preferred, but experienced water personnel will be considered.

The role entails ensuring SOP adherence, performing maintenance tasks, compiling labor/material estimates, and maintaining safety standards in line with OSHA and OMFS guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Grade III License required within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all regulatory requirements.
• Follow all SOPs for WTP duties.
• Complete Maintenance Connection tasks timely.
• Keep maintenance records; estimate labor and materials.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with contacts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, pipes and plans.
• Diagnose operating problems and direct corrective procedures.
• Assist Supervisor and Site Engineer with reports and record keeping.
• Assist planning, scheduling and directing maintenance and repair of the Water Treatment Plant.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and clients.
• Live up to OSHA, State and OMFS safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
