Job summary

City of Dover seeks a Community Services professional to oversee water treatment facilities, wells, boosters, tanks, and recharge sites. Lead staff, ensure safe, compliant operation, and support maintenance activities city-wide.

The role requires advanced treatment plant knowledge, regulatory familiarity, and strong leadership. Includes a full-time schedule with comprehensive city benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; 5+ years in municipal water treatment, production, distribution, and related systems.
  • Must possess NH Water Treatment Operator License Grade III OIT; Distribution System Operator License Grade II preferred.
  • Must have OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and NH CDL Class B with endorsements; ongoing training for compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous safe, reliable drinking water delivery in compliance with regulations.
  • Lead operation and maintenance of wells, treatment plants, booster stations, storage tanks, and recharge facilities.
  • Perform sampling, testing, and process adjustments to maintain water quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Plan and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to staff in operations, safety, and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in CMMS and regulatory reporting.
