Job summary

Dallas City Hall is seeking a Supervisor-Water Distribution to oversee all water distribution, maintenance, and efficiency for the Dallas Water Utility. You will supervise staff, ensure timely maintenance, and coordinate with city leadership to deliver reliable water services to residents.

The role requires leadership, budgeting, and technical knowledge of water/wastewater systems, with responsibilities extending to planning, audits, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six years in Water/Wastewater/Stormwater settings.
• At least two years in lead or supervisory roles.
• Valid driver's license with clean record; CDL may be required.
• Ability to manage budgets, procurement, and inventory.
• Strong math, record-keeping, and written/oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervise water distribution and maintenance staff across facilities.
• Schedule tasks, monitor performance, and set expectations.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and discipline staff as needed.
• Contribute to long-range plans, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Troubleshoot distribution issues and guide repairs and calibrations.
• Monitor compliance with regulations and manage chemical handling.
• Lead staff meetings to ensure equipment reliability and capacity.
• Address grievances and escalate as required.
• Identify methods to improve production and service delivery.
