Job summary

Chesterfield County Department of Utilities seeks a Principal Plant Operator (Maintenance) to join a 24/7 wastewater team in Virginia. You will perform preventive maintenance, repair equipment, monitor SCADA, and support plant operations while upholding safety rules and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

This is a maintenance-focused role requiring basic mechanical skills.
Candidate should be able to operate and troubleshoot plant equipment.
Safety rules and procedures must be followed at all times.

Responsibilities

Maintain process equipment and systems for wastewater treatment.
Maintain plant vehicles and equipment.
Schedule and oversee contracted work on site.
Create purchase orders and place orders for materials and equipment.
Monitor the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA).
Perform emergency repairs on equipment as needed.
Observe and record process trends and adjust instrumentation.
Operate sludge dewatering facility and perform preventive maintenance.
Document repairs and preventative maintenance completed.
Work outdoors in the elements.
