Job summary

The City of Grand Rapids is seeking a Wastewater Operation and Maintenance Supervisor to oversee our treatment facility’s daily performance. You will supervise utility maintenance teams, address plant and citizen concerns, and coordinate emergency repairs to protect the river and our community.

This full-time role requires a High School diploma (or GED), six years in operations/maintenance with supervisory experience, and Michigan EGLE licenses: Class B, or Class C with the ability to obtain

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in operations, maintenance and/or repair work, with supervisory experience.
• Licenses in wastewater operation as required by the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Supervises assigned personnel; hires, trains, and evaluates staff; assigns work and conducts performance reviews.
• Directs operation and maintenance of wastewater processes including treatment, clarification, disinfection, and solids handling.
• Oversees safety programs, inventory, contracts, procurement, and contractor management.
• Attends meetings and prepares reports; analyzes manuals and maintains CMMS records.
• Responds to inquiries, handles complaints, and documents work and budgets.
• Assists in annual budget preparation and oversees special projects related to utility maintenance.
• Performs related duties as required.
