Job summary

StaffEx in Tampa, FL seeks a Lead Warehouse Associate to oversee daily warehouse operations, ensure safety, and improve accuracy and efficiency. You will direct teams, coordinate tasks, operate forklifts, receive shipments, pack orders, and maintain organized inventory while upholding OSHA guidelines and company policies.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in warehousing and forklift experience, plus leadership capabilities and a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of warehouse or distribution experience.
• Previous forklift experience required.
• Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts safely in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Ability to train, guide, and support other warehouse employees.
• Strong understanding of receiving, shipping, picking, packing, loading, and inventory processes.
• Ability to read and understand warehouse documents, packing slips, and shipping paperwork.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical warehouse duties throughout the shift.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Must pass background screening

Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily warehouse operations while ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Provide direction and guidance to warehouse associates and assist with assigning daily tasks and priorities.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to safely move, load, unload, and organize inventory.
• Receive incoming shipments and verify products against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents.
• Inspect incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and potential damage.
• Properly store and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick, pack, stage, weigh, and label orders for shipment.
• Load and unload trucks while following proper safety procedures.
• Prepare bills of lading, shipping documents, pick tickets, and other required warehouse paperwork.
• Perform inventory counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and communicate issues to management.
• Coordinate the movement and consolidation of warehouse materials to maximize available space.
• Assist with returns by inspecting materials, documenting returned products, and placing inventory in the appropriate location.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse, loading dock, and surrounding work areas.
• Train and assist new warehouse employees on company procedures, safety requirements, equipment operation, and warehouse processes.
• Monitor workflow and assist supervisors with identifying operational issues and improving efficiency.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA-related warehouse safety practices.
• Perform routine inspections of forklifts and warehouse equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Assist with other warehouse duties and special projects as assigned by management.
