Job summary

Barclays is building a premier institutional wallet platform and seeks a Principal Wallet Security Engineer – Digital Assets. You will define and deliver the security architecture for the wallet, establishing cryptographic trust across open blockchain and permissioned networks.

The role spans signing services, key management, and transaction controls to support digital asset custody and settlement. You will lead secure design practices, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and drive security

Qualifications

Proven experience designing and securing institutional wallet platforms.
Expertise with HSMs, MPC, and enterprise key management.
Hands-on experience with lifecycle controls, secrets management, and PKI services.
Leadership in threat modeling, attack-path analysis and security reviews.
Apply secure-by-design practices across platform lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Define and deliver security architecture for Barclays' wallet platform.
Lead cryptographic signing workflows and key management across networks.
Collaborate with Engineering, Cyber Security, Infra, Risk and Architecture teams.
Drive threat modeling, residual risk assessments and architecture reviews.
Support governance, assurance processes and secure deployment practices.
