Job summary

Masonicare at Ashlar Village in Wallingford, CT is seeking a Lead Waiter/Waitress to oversee dining room service for residents. This role leads waitstaff, sets up service, and ensures an attractive, professional dining experience during day and evening shifts.

Responsibilities include training staff, presenting menus, and ensuring quality service while maintaining a courteous, resident-focused atmosphere. Flexible schedule with weekend duties expected.

Qualifications

• Education: Some high school.
• Experience: Experienced wait staff necessary.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of dining room systems and good communication skills.
• Physical and Mental Demands: Continuous standing, walking, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling and carrying; stress from customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead waitstaff and assign preparatory and post-service tasks to ensure timely service.
• Present and explain the menu to residents in a clear, courteous manner; train staff on menu presentation.
• Wait on tables promptly, meet resident needs, and ensure high quality service.
• Interact with residents, families and coworkers professionally.
• Report to work on time in proper uniform and ensure staff are in uniform before service.
• Attend mandatory education events and help lead educational sessions for Wait Staff.
• Communicate respectfully with Supervisors and staff, recognizing contributions of the team.
• Create eye contact, smile and greet residents by name whenever possible.
• Be willing to step outside primary duties to assist customers and teammates.
• All other duties as assigned.
