Job summary

Virginia Tech seeks a Senior Assistant/Associate Director of Visitor Experience to lead the campus visit program and front desk operations. You will oversee staff, coordinate tours, and drive initiatives to improve the visitor experience for prospective students and families.

The role requires strong leadership, event management, and collaboration with campus partners to align visit activities with enrollment goals. Evening/weekend hours and on-site presence in Blacksburg, VA are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with several years of progressively responsible experience in visitor experience, campus events, student engagement, higher education recruitment, or a closely related field
• Experience working with customer relations and/or event/program management
• Proven leadership and staff management skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills; the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
• Exemplary interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with individuals and large groups, internal and external to the institution
• Availability to work some evenings, weekends, and peak-season hours (fall and spring visit seasons, admitted student events)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Visitor and Undergraduate Admission Center front desk operations
• Supervise professional and student staff
• Manage campus tour and visit programs
• Implement strategies that continuously innovate and enhance the visitor experience
• Lead operational planning and staff development to improve visitor services
• Collaborate with campus partners to position the center as a strategic enrollment component
