Job summary

Vulcan Elements Inc. is seeking a Virtualization and Systems Administrator to own the IT/OT infrastructure that underpins manufacturing operations, MES servers, and production applications.

You will define and maintain cross-domain communication, manage VMware and other hypervisors, and enforce strong security controls aligned with CMMC/NIST 800-171. Qualifications

• 3+ years of systems administration experience in production environments.
• Direct experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter.
• Experience administering MES or SCADA-adjacent server environments.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-171 and CMMC practices.
• Windows Server admin skills including Active Directory, DNS/DHCP; Linux a plus.
• Ability to map and document how systems communicate and implement integrations with proper access controls.
• Prior experience supporting federal contractors, DoD programs, or government-adjacent facilities with CUI handling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage virtualization platforms hosting IT and OT workloads.
• Own the design and administration of virtual machine environments including resource allocation, snapshots, templates, HA/DR configuration, and capacity planning.
• Define, document, and maintain integration points between OT and IT systems with secure access controls at all layers.
• Administer MES servers and supporting infrastructure including OS patching, backups, and vendor coordination.
• Provide general systems administration for IT infrastructure including Windows/Linux servers, AD, DNS/DHCP, and file services.
• Maintain system documentation, baselines, and SOPs for all platforms.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to support system needs.
