Job summary

James G. Davis Construction Corporation is seeking a Senior Virtual Construction Engineer in Rockville, MD to lead advanced BIM/VDC workflows on complex projects. You will guide model-based coordination, supervise deliverables, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with field teams and project controls.

A strong background in BIM software and shop drawing coordination is essential. Compensation ranges from $88,000 to $105,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package including

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years VDC experience.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoDesk Navisworks, Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ability to independently manage federated models, clash detection, and coordination issue resolution.
• Deep understanding of point cloud processing and integration into VDC efforts.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently.
• Strong communication skills with project teams and leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience leading coordination efforts on active construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction documents, building systems, and shop/submittal coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced BIM/VDC deliverables, including federated models and coordination reports.
• Manage clash detection, RFIs, and coordination meetings with project teams.
• Oversee VC project setup, folder structures, and model administration.
• Mentor junior staff and align deliverables with project schedules and controls.
• Support cost management and drive technology adoption in VC workflows.
