Job summary

AMT is seeking a Virginia Licensed Surveyor to join our Survey practice in Richmond or Northern Virginia. You will lead survey projects, mentor field crews and staff, and develop client relationships while contributing to growth in our public infrastructure projects.

The role emphasizes leadership, project management, and adherence to VDOT standards within an employee-owned firm offering hybrid work options and strong work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Virginia Licensed Surveyor (LS) with progressive surveying experience.
• Experience with Topographic, Boundary, Right-of-Way and Utility surveys.

Responsibilities

• Manage survey projects from proposal development through final delivery.
• Supervise and mentor field crews and office staff.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, budgets, and deliverables.
• Conduct project kickoff meetings with clients and teams.
• Establish project work plans, procedures, and quality standards.
• Oversee Topographic, Boundary, Right-of-Way, and Utility surveys.
• Ensure compliance with VDOT Survey Standards and CAD Standards.
• Review field data, mappings, and deliverables for QA/QC.
• Develop client relationships and strengthen business development.
• Collaborate with transportation and infrastructure engineering teams.
