Job summary

Urban Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician to supervise and mentor a dedicated technician team. You will assist in surgery, dentistry, and routine care, while modeling best practices and supporting hospital operations.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of leadership experience and hold a veterinary technician license. This role emphasizes collaboration, high‑quality patient care, and ongoing professional growth in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in anesthesia, dentistry, surgery support, and advanced nursing care.
  • Leadership or management experience (2+ years) is desirable.
  • Mentor capabilities for both seasoned and newer staff.
  • Commitment to gold‑standard medicine and client education.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide guidance for the technician team with open communication.
  • Assist in surgery, dentistry, and appointments while modeling best practices.
  • Mentor the team, lead monthly meetings and build skills with leadership support.

What You’ll Do As a Lead Tech
  • Supervise and provide guidance for the technician team while keeping communication open and supportive.
  • Assist in surgery, dentistry, and appointments while modeling best practices.
  • Elevate care hospital‑wide by mentoring the team, leading monthly meetings and building skills, always with leadership support.
  • Collaborate on technician scheduling to align with hospital needs.
  • Work with hospital leadership to roll out strategies and initiatives that raise the standard of care.
What We’re Looking For
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) strongly preferred
  • Skilled and confident in anesthesia, dentistry, surgery support, and advanced nursing care
  • At least 2 years of leadership or management experience
  • A natural mentor who supports both experienced team members and those newer to the field
