Job summary

Companion Oak Park is seeking a Lead Customer Service Representative to guide the front desk team, coach peers, and ensure exceptional client experiences for our small animal patients in Chicago. You will partner with hospital leadership to maintain service standards, manage scheduling, and handle escalations with empathy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience is required.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with scheduling systems and POS platforms.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, empathetically, and professionally.
• Prior lead, senior, or mentoring experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in veterinary, healthcare, or multi-location service environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example in delivering service excellence and guiding the CSR team.
• Mentor onboarding CSRs with real-time coaching and development planning.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for client concerns and issues.
• Facilitate strong cross-department communication with technicians, veterinarians, and leadership.
• Manage front desk operations, scheduling accuracy, and records integrity.
• Uphold hospital values with a calm, empathetic leadership style during busy periods.
