Job summary

You will oversee sterile processing, instrument handling, and surgical support for large and small animal services.

The role requires coordinating staffing, maintaining compliance with standards, managing inventory, and participating in on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in veterinary medicine, surgical services, or sterile processing.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of small and large animals.
• Understanding of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills; ability to manage policies and processes.
• Ability to work in routine, urgent, and emergency situations.
• Rabies prophylaxis provided by employer.

Responsibilities

• Lead CSS and surgical support personnel; recruit, onboard, train, schedule and manage performance.
• Oversee CSS operations: decontamination, cleaning, inspection, sterilization, packaging, storage and tracking.
• Ensure readiness of surgical suites, instruments, and staff for scheduled and emergency procedures.
• Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and procurement; identify efficiency improvements.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule and report within 30 minutes when on call; essential personnel during inclement weather.
