Job summary

Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital in Plymouth Meeting, PA is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician – Anesthesia to join our surgical and anesthesia team. The role offers a $5,000 sign‑on bonus plus a $2,000 retention bonus and a schedule of four 10‑hour days.

You will plan and administer anesthesia, monitor patients, support complex procedures, and participate in continuing education. We provide medical/dental/vision, a 401(k) match, generous PTO and CE allowances, tuition reimbursement,

Qualifications

• CVT/LVT/RVT licensure preferred.
• Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, medications and diseases.
• Excellent communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
• Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to exceptional patient and client care.
• Leadership experience coordinating surgical workflow.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare individualized anesthesia protocols with a veterinary anesthesiologist and other specialists.
• Administer and monitor anesthesia with advanced equipment to track vitals and patient comfort.
• Assist during surgical and diagnostic procedures, adapting to changes in patient status.
• Manage perioperative pain control and administer medications.
• Maintain accurate records of anesthesia protocols, drug usage, and patient responses.
• Maintain a calm, organized workspace and ensure quick access to supplies.
• Engage in continuing education and case discussions to stay updated.
