Job summary

Chewy Vet Care, PLLC is seeking a full-time Lead Veterinarian to join our Healthcare Practice Team. You will lead a practice built with advanced equipment and a patient-centered approach, delivering high-level medical care while ensuring exceptional client and pet parent experiences.

As a clinical leader, you will mentor veterinarians and staff, implement policies, manage records, and stay current with veterinary advances.

Qualifications

• A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM, VMD) or equivalent is required.
• Active State license and DEA license as required.
• 5+ years of general medicine and surgery; 1-3 years of leadership experience.
• 2 years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; customer service focus.
• Comfortable collaborating with other veterinary professionals in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead veterinarians, technicians and assistants to provide high-level care and Chewy Vet Care culture.
• Mentor team members, remove barriers, and provide performance feedback.
• Implement policies using integrated technology and deliver medical care within skill set.
• Perform examinations and procedures, including complex surgeries.
• Explain findings to clients and present treatment plans.
• Maintain records and assist in follow-up and future management.
• Stay current with new medical information and continuing education.
• Lead and mentor associates on client happiness, teamwork, and quality.
• Develop paraprofessional team for high-quality care and service.
• Oversee safety, compliance and Chewy Vet Care processes.
• Travel may be required.
