Waymo is seeking a senior Hardware Engineering role focused on steering systems for the Waymo Driver. You will own requirements, drive fault-tolerance trade studies, and lead supplier collaborations to deliver fail-operational steering.

Formación

• Ownership of system-level requirements, architecture or control strategy for steering systems.
• Experience developing safety-critical automotive steering and fault-tolerant designs.
• Familiar with ISO 26262 safety concepts in steering contexts.
• Ability to read C/C++ and perform data/log analysis with Python or MATLAB.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsabilidades

• Own steering system requirements (EPS and steer-by-wire) through full lifecycle.
• Lead verification and sign-off for steering in driverless operation.
• Lead fault monitors, thresholds, latching and safe maneuvers with safety partners.
• Serve as technical lead with steering suppliers and OEM partners.
• Perform root-cause analysis using logs, CAN traces, and Python tooling.
• Define verification strategy for steering performance and reliability.
